Software

PVMapper

PVMapper is an open-source web-based GIS tool used to identify and compare locations for siting utility-scale PV solar facilities anywhere in the United States, and it includes an innovative measure of social risk and public acceptance.  Integrating the most relevant GIS layers, users are able to customize scoring and create reports that meet their specific needs.

Site Designer

Site Designer is the desktop extension of the PVMapper online application. It is a free tool for designing and analyzing a specific site and evaluating the amount of power that can be produced from that site. It can be used for designing large scale photovoltaic systems based on numerous factors to reflect the characteristics of landscape specific to the area.

Line Siter

LineSiter is a proof of concept and open source application for siting high voltage transmission lines.  Development of the prototype methodology for incorporating social risk led to the US Department of Energy award to build PVMapper.
